Intersex
Intersex is a condition one is born with in which their biological sexual characteristics and/or chromosomes do not indicate distinctly whether they are male or female. There are many variations to this condition. Sometimes the condition is not discovered until later in life. Sometimes parents of intersex children make decisions to have gender assignment surgery while their child is very young. This can cause problems later and is controversial. This condition should not be confused with transgender. With intersex the body is not always giving clear indication of male or female. With transgender the question is whether the person (in mind and heart) is the same gender as their body. For more information on intersex click here
